About Dr. Helene

I have always been interested in understanding people and their underlying motivations. As an undergraduate, I majored in cultural anthropology and sociology. This area of study eventually led me into the field of education, with a specialty in early childhood education.  I taught for two years and realized that my deep interest was more  psychological than educational. I then began my pursuit of obtaining graduate degrees and training, to obtain the credentials necessary for my work as a therapist and psychoanalyst.

I have been in practice for thirty years. I have an expertise in trauma and in child, adolescent and adult development. I am a psychoanalyst, which is the highest level of training in the psychotherapies. As such, I am able to apply this knowledge to the therapy process. In addition, I am qualified to analyze dreams, which contribute to deeper understandings.

I work with adolescent and adult patients in individual, couples and family therapy. I also have some groups for adults and seniors.

My focus is always upon understanding what will promote emotional growth  to enhance communication, relationships and personal identity in every patient.
